Welcome to Project Coin
A student-led initiative dedicated to making finance education accessible and engaging for middle and high school students.

Breaking Educational Barriers
Project Coin is dedicated to breaking educational barriers in financial literacy by offering free and remote opportunities that build foundational skills in business, finance, and civics.
Our Vision
Our goal is to create a unique approach to finance education that is practical, engaging, and widely accessible. We emphasize creativity, innovation, and inclusivity in all our programs, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds gain the financial literacy skills needed for future success.
Why It Matters
Financial literacy is a crucial life skill, yet many students lack access to quality education on the topic. By joining our outreach and grant research efforts, you play a vital role in ensuring Project Coin reaches more students, secures necessary funding, and continues to grow.
About Us
Our Foundation
Project Coin was founded as a student-led initiative centered around providing practical and engaging resources that combine financial education with a civic-oriented approach. We were designed around those most impacted by disparities in educational resources: underserved middle and high school students, particularly those in low to middle-income communities attending local public schools.
Youth from these backgrounds often face restricted academic opportunities and firsthand experience financial instability. To address this disparity, our team designed our very own curriculum for in-person workshops, bridging both financial and civic literacy.
Our Approach
We've hosted over 10 workshops targeting middle school students, piloting 7 different lessons featuring topics such as consumer advocacy, public speaking, budgeting, and economics. Each workshop dedicates 30 minutes to slide presentations, balancing auditory learning with group discussions and scenarios.
The remaining 45 minutes focus on hands-on activities including business pitch competitions, Monopoly-inspired budgeting games, and ethical product design competitions. Our diverse team provides education that is free, resourceful, and driven by relatable "for youth, by youth" perspectives.
Our Programs
Through innovative programs, we empower communities with essential knowledge to make informed financial decisions.
In-person and virtual workshops, including our Hoboken Public Library series, teaching personal finance, budgeting, and business ethics.
Hands-on learning through business-related competitions and a fellowship program for students to explore finance education in-depth.
Engaging young audiences through Money Mondays, Tip Tuesdays, Throwback Thursdays, and Spotlight Saturdays.
Actively seeking funding and partnerships with organizations that align with our mission to sustain and grow our programs.
